Congo: Eine Geschichte (in the original: Congo. Een geschiedenis ) is a historical work by David Van Reybrouck from 2010. It deals with the history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from the earliest times to the postcolonial period and was published 300,000 times by the end of 2012 sold in the original edition. The German edition was translated by Waltraud Hüsmert .

During the six years that the book was written, the author conducted more than 500 interviews with Congolese on ten trips to the Congo. Simple citizens were among his interlocutors as well as people from contemporary history.
