Konin
Kōnin ( Japanese 光 仁 天皇 , Kōnin-tennō ; * November 18, 709 ; † January 11, 782 ) was the 49th Tennō of Japan (770-781). He was a grandson of Tenji- tennō.
His wife was the daughter of Shōmu -tennō princess Inoe ( 井上 内 親王 , Inoe-naishinnō ; 717? –775). Initially, their son, Prince Osabe ( 他 戸 親王 , Osabe-shinnō ; † 775) was intended to be crown prince. But they were fired and Prince Yamabe became the new Crown Prince. Today historians suspect that Prince Yamabe and his allies were intrigued by an intrigue.
With Princess Inoe also had another daughter: Princess Sakahito ( 酒 人 内 親王 , Sakahito-naishinnō ; 754-829), who was a concubine ( 妃 , hi ) of Kammu-tennō (Prince Yamabe).
The concubine of Tennō and mother of Prince Yamabe was Takano no Niigasa , who is said to be descended from King Muryeong of Baekje .
