Konrad Dettmer

Konrad Dettmer (* before 1940) is a German national table tennis player with his top performance in the 1940s and 1950s. He became German runner-up in doubles.

Career

Konrad Dettmer began playing table tennis at the table tennis club Blauweiß Harsum in the early 1940s . With his men's team he was several times champion of the Oberliga, the highest class in German table tennis at the time. In 1947 he was the first to win the Lower Saxony championship after the Second World War . In the following years he won several titles here. He also achieved some top placings in the national German championships : In doubles with Klaus Wilke, he was in the semi-finals in 1949 and in the final in 1953, with Martha Behrens he reached third place in mixed in 1952.

Once Konrad Dettmer was called up to the German national team for a friendly match against the USA.

For professional reasons, he left the Blauweiß Harsum association in the fall of 1952 and headed for TTC Salzdetfurth. In the 1980s he competed for VfB Bodenburg.
