Konrad (von) Waldkirch (born May 15, 1549 in Schaffhausen , † around 1615 ) was a Swiss printer and publisher in Basel .

Konrad Waldkirch came from a noble family from Schaffhausen. In Basel he apprenticed to the printer Pietro Perna . In 1580 he became a citizen of Basel and a member of the saffron guild , in 1581 he married Laura, the daughter of his teacher. After Perna died of the plague in 1582 and Laura died a few days later, he took over the publishing house and married again the following year. In 1591/92 he printed in Schaffhausen, then again in Basel.

Waldkirch's business was one of the great Basel officials, its program was varied, and Waldkirch had extensive relationships; when his nephew Heinrich Waldkirch opened a printing shop in Copenhagen in 1598, he supplied him with fonts. His production includes around a thousand prints, of which, however, around two thirds were dissertations and other narrow university publications. His extensive works include Johann Huser's large Paracelsus edition in ten volumes, the text of which has remained fundamental to many of the famous doctor's writings to this day. Hebrew and Yiddish prints (approx. 69 titles) also became important for Waldkirch: Johann Buxtorf the Elderfor example brought out his works with him. However, he not only produced for Christian Hebraists, but also for a Jewish audience.

Waldkirch's printing works were sold by the heirs to Ludwig König in 1615; It is not known whether the printer died this year or a little earlier.
