The Konspirative Kitchen Concerts are a television show that sees itself as a forum for current art and the latest developments in popular music. They combine pop music with the work of performing artists. All programs consist of live musical performances, installed art , and films about the artists, and culminate in a meal together.

concept

The conspiratorial kitchen concerts have been produced as a "gastro-pop show" since May 2009 in the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg and broadcast by the citizens' broadcaster TideTV in Hamburg and 15 other open channels in Germany and part of Austria. By February 2011 there were 19 programs that can also be accessed on the Internet. From August 2011 the program will be broadcast weekly on Fridays at 10 p.m. on ZDFkultur . The logo design comes from the Hamburg illustrator Larissa Bertonasco .

The concept of the show is based on the theory that the best conversations take place in the kitchen. According to the motto (based on Tucholsky ): “I write myself the little literature I need”, the team combines its vision of better television with the goal of conquering a new slot for music and art. Therefore, the broadcasts are recorded in front of a live audience in the presenter's studio or in the kitchen of the “Puhsthof” in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg .

One musical act and one artist are invited. The artist or artists design the kitchen and the stage. The band organizes the evening musically and can also ask for a favorite dish. While this is being cooked by the presenter Marco Antonio Reyes Loredo and his partner Stefan "Enno" Mühlmann, the band entertains the audience. The band and the artist are introduced through short recordings, e.g. B. through film portraits and conversations in the apartment's own freight elevator.
The production team currently consists of 35 people. Since June 2010, the director has been Geli Fuchs, who has also overseen the “ Schmidt Midnight Show ” for NDR and the “ Harald Schmidt Show ” for Sat.1 .

Special features in the shipment

While the programs of the conspiratorial kitchen concerts usually have a guest from the field of music and one from the field of “visual arts”, it happens in some programs that there are special guests. In the 11th episode, the author Arne Nielsen and his wife Karoline Eichhorn sit in the audience. Roger Willemsen moderates a talk show within the program in the 22nd program with Ensemble Resonanz and the artists Stefan Vogel and Simon Hehemann. The topic of conversation is the Greek musician Iannis Xenakis .
