Konstantin Kostov
Konstantin Kostov (also Konstantin Kostow transcribed, Bulgarian Константин Костов ; born February 15, 1979 in Wraza ) is a Bulgarian jazz pianist . In 2007 he received his diploma with distinction.
Career
Kostov received his first piano lessons at the age of 6 and from 2001 studied jazz piano with Leonid Tschischik . He studied classical piano at the Music School in Wraza, at the State Music School in Pleven and at the National Music Academy in Sofia .
Since August 2008 he has been teaching jazz piano at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . Bulgarian songs and folk music also flow into Kostov's various jazz projects.
Awards
- 2003: 1st prize from the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich
- 2010: 2nd Prize and Audience Prize, Terem Crossover International Music Competition , Saint Petersburg , Russia
