KB Maschinostrojenija or KBM for short (for Russian КБ Машиностроения, КБМ , literally "design office for mechanical engineering") is a state armaments company. KBM is a scientific and constructive research and development center specializing in missile weapons and is located in Kolomna . The company is part of the Rostec state holding company .

KBM was founded on April 11, 1942 by order 1576 of the State Defense Committee of the USSR for mortar development . The first boss was Boris Shavyrin.

Formerly, the company was called SKB-101 , SKB-GA - Special design office for smooth pipe guns ( Russian Специальное конструкторское бюро гладкоствольной артиллерии, СКБ ГА ).

The main developers were Sergei Nepobedimy and Andranik Ter-Stepanjan.

W. Sokolow is the current boss and chief developer.
