Kontex was a department store association in Berlin, GDR . The complete name was: "Association of Kon sum- Southwestern repayments and clothing stores Berlin"
Several department stores in the GDR formed a "department store association" in a demarcated market area, mostly a district . Another such trade association in addition to kontex was, for example, the "Association of state-owned department stores" Magnet "" based in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Zwickau).
