The coordination, contact and advice center for people with disabilities (abbreviation KoKoBe ) is a support service in the Rhineland .

The coordination, contact and advice offers are a free and independent service for
- People with intellectual and multiple disabilities
- Relatives and caregivers of people with disabilities
- Legal guardians and specialists from services and institutions for people with disabilities
offer
The aim of KoKoBe is to support people with disabilities in leading a self-determined life. They complement the long-standing social psychiatric centers (SPZ) that support people with mental disabilities . In addition, KoKoBe and SPZ should help to coordinate and further develop outpatient support offers for people with disabilities in the respective region.
KoKoBe employees help, for example, to find the right form of living, a suitable workplace and the right leisure activities. They take care of the networking on site, the further development of the existing offers and the support of relatives and self-help groups . The KoKoBe is the contact point on site and offers space for events and meetings.
KoKoBe employees advise and provide information at their contact points, at the person concerned at home, or at another location of their choice, focusing on the areas of personal future prospects, individual help planning , authority matters, work opportunities or other daily structuring measures, questions about living and household issues and other problems in everyday life as well as on your personal budget .

The KoKoBe are financed by the Rhineland Regional Council (LVR). Such an offer is available everywhere in the Rhineland, in all 13 independent cities, the 12 districts and the Aachen city region. The LVR supports one specialist for every 150,000 inhabitants. The on-site advisory services are usually supported by a network of regional organizations that are active in the field of help for people with disabilities, e.g. B. Lebenshilfe and Caritas .
