history
During the forced Christianization of the Sámi in the 17th century, the Ladjo women's bonnet was forbidden by the church as the “devil's horn”. But only after the pietistic revival movement of Laestadianism denounced the Ladjo as a "sign of Satan" from the middle of the 19th century, it was no longer used in parts of Finnmark .
