Kory tarpenning

Kory Tarpenning ( Kory Merrill Tarpenning ; born February 27, 1962 in Portland (Oregon) ) is a former American pole vaulter .

Life

In 1988 he set his personal best in Indianapolis with 5.89 m at the US trials. At the Olympic Games in 1988 he was tenth with 5.50 m.

At the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1991 in Seville, Tarpenning was fourth with 5.70 m at the same height with third-placed Ferenc Salbert from France.

Tarpenning also took fourth place at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Again Tarpenning was level with the winner of the bronze medal, which went to the Spaniard Javier García . In 1997 Tarpenning tested positive for anabolic steroids and was banned for two years.

Kory Tarpenning is 1.80 m and weighed 75 kg when he was active.
