Kosmaj ( Cyrillic : Космај ) is a mountain in the Sopot municipality in the Belgrade District . It has a height of 628 meters and is the highest mountain near Belgrade, but one of the lowest in the Šumadija region . The mountain is about 35 km south of Belgrade and about 15 km west of Mladenovac . It has three protruding peaks, the Mali , the Goli and the Rutavi .

The mountain is densely forested and surrounded by the towns of Sopot in the north, Rogača in the west, Velika Ivanča in the south, Koraćica in the southeast and Nemenikuće in the northeast. Tresije Monastery from the 13th century is located on the mountain in a north-westerly direction, surrounded by the forest.

The mountain and its immediate surroundings have been under nature and landscape protection since December 2005.
