After completing primary school in Ralbitz and attending the German grammar school in Prague , he studied philosophy and theology . From 1870 to 1875 Kubasch worked as a chaplain in Königshain . He then worked in Ralbitz from 1875 to 1876 and in Nebelschütz from 1876 to 1890. As a pastor he worked again from 1890 in Ralbitz and from 1891 to 1918 in Nebelschütz.

In his youth, Kubasch developed a great Sorbian patriotic awareness. Until his death he wrote articles for Katolski Posoł and also for Serbske Nowiny . During his tenure in Nebelschütz he published the Sorbian farmers' magazine Serbski Hospodar . The latter was aimed at the farmers of Upper Lusatia . Kubasch, who has always maintained contact with the rural population, supported the founding of the Sorbian Farmers' Association with great commitment in 1888 . Since 1869 he was a member of the scientific society Maćica Serbska .

In numerous articles for the Katolski Posoł, Kubasch developed a pronounced anti-Judaism that appears mainly religiously motivated, but also serves typical anti-Semitic-racist prejudices of his time and seeks to justify action by the state and the population against “the Jews”.
