The Koziol »ideas for friends GmbH [ koˈt͜siːɔl ] is a manufacturer of designer items and home accessories made of plastic based in Erbach . Koziol produces all goods at the company headquarters in Erbach im Odenwald and exports to over 50 countries around the world, with an export quota of 60 percent.

On November 27, 1927, the 19-year-old Bernhard Koziol registered an ivory workshop as a trade in Michelstadt . The small workshop was initially in his bedroom, but the small business grew rapidly, and as early as 1930 a barn was converted into a workshop in which around 30 employees carved ivory jewelry. In 1935 the first hand-operated plastic injection molding machine was purchased; a technical revolution back then. From now on, the brooch motifs were cast from thermoplastic material. In 1940 the now 150 employees moved into new factory buildings in Michelstadt. After the end of the Second World War , the production of decorative plastic items was resumed. From 1950 souvenir items such as brooches, blackboards, picture frames and dream balls were produced. In 1970 the company moved to the newly built factory complex in Erbach, the current headquarters. In 1980 the two sons of the company founder, Bernhard Koziol jun., Who died in 1998, and Stephan Koziol, took over the management. Koziol has mainly produced housewares and gift items since the 1990s.
In product development, Koziol has been working with renowned designers and universities for decades; the designs have won multiple awards, now more than 100 times. Product development, model making, construction, mold making, marketing, production and shipping are all under one roof. Production takes place exclusively at the Erbach location, in the middle of the Odenwald.
On October 31, 2009, the koziol happiness factory was opened at the company's headquarters in Erbach . It comprises three areas: the koziol museum, the Glücks canteen and a design outlet. The company museum stages the company's development with multimedia in a machine park, starting in 1927 with ivory jewelry, through the supplies of the war years, souvenir brooches from the economic miracle to today's design. The course is structured chronologically, with each machine representing a specific era in the company's history. A special highlight is the view into the production hall.
Egg pot
2009 Koziol had brought an egg cup on the market which, when viewing an iPod company Apple was similar and was marketed under the jocular name "eiPott". Apple then sued for trademark infringement , as it had the word mark iPod protected for appliances and containers for household and kitchen. In August 2010, the Hamburg Higher Regional Court issued an interim injunction prohibiting Koziol from using the name “eiPott”. The egg cup was then renamed Pott.
