In keeping with its history, the building shows traces of the late Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neo-Gothic periods. In the course of the renovation, the outbuildings on the city wall were removed and replaced by a new building. During the renovation phase, the office building was given the name "Krüger House" in recognition of the Krüger family's commitment to the university and the city of Freiberg. Since then, the rooms have also been used as public presentation and seminar areas as well as for teaching and research at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg . Since the opening in October 2012, the exhibition “German Minerals” of the “Mineralogical Collection Germany” foundation has been shown in the Krüger House, which is also the seat of the Dr. Erich Krüger Foundation.

In front of the building, two mighty mineral steps donated by the Bergsicherung Schneeberg were erected.
