The power plant Aleko is a hydroelectric power plant in Pazardzhik Province , Bulgaria . It has an installed capacity of 66 MW . The power plant uses the water from the Peschtera power plant, about 10 km away, to generate electricity. The town of Peschtera is about 8 km south of the power plant.
The power plant is owned by Nazionalna elektritscheska kompanija EAD (NEK EAD) and is also operated by NEK EAD.
power plant
The power plant has an installed capacity of 66 MW . The average annual production is 147 million kWh . The 3 Francis turbines have an output of 22 MW each; they are located in an above-ground machine house.
A 10 km long tunnel leads from the Peschtera power plant to the Aleko power plant. The drop height is in this case 272 m, and the maximum flow rate is a total of 30 m³ / s.
