The power plant Bull Run is a coal fired power plant of the Tennessee Valley Authority near Oak Ridge in the State of Tennessee . The power plant has an installed net capacity of 865 MW . It is located right on the Clinch River and was completed in 1967. At the time, it was the largest once-through boiler in the United States.
Despite its age, the power plant achieves top positions in terms of system efficiency every year. From 2005 to 2008 a flue gas desulphurization system was installed.
