Pont-la-Ville is a French commune with 120 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chaumont and the canton of Châteauvillain . In addition, the community is part of the company founded in 2003 Municipalities of Les Trois Forêts . The inhabitants are called Pontavillois (es) .
location
Pont-la-Ville is located west of the Aujon about 65 kilometers southeast of Troyes and 19 kilometers west-southwest of the small town of Chaumont in the west of the Haute-Marne department. The community consists of the village of Pont-la-Ville and is covered over large areas of forest in the western part.
Neighboring municipalities are Cirfontaines-en-Azois in the north, Orges in the east, Châteauvillain in the south, Silvarouvres in the south-west and west and Laferté-sur-Aube in the north-west.
The Autobahn Autoroute A5 runs through the community. But the next connection is several kilometers to the west at Ville-sous-la-Ferté. The most important connection is therefore the D6 towards Châteauvillain.
history
Until the French Revolution, Pont-la-Ville was within the Bailliage de Chaumont . The parish belonged to the Chaumont district from 1793 to 1801. Since 1801 it has been part of the Chaumont arrondissement. Since 1793 the community has been located within the canton of Châteauvillain (called Ville-sur-Aujon until 1814).
