The power plant Isohaara is a hydroelectric power plant in the municipality of Keminmaa , landscape Lapland , Finland , the most Kemijoki , is located, the longest river in Finland. It is the last power plant in the chain of 9 hydropower plants on Kemijoki.
The power plant is owned and operated by Pohjolan Voima Oy (PVO).
Barrier structure
The barrier structure consists of a gravity dam . The weir system is in the middle; There is a machine house on both sides of the weir system. On the left side of the river there is a dam.

Isohaara I power plant
The Isohaara I power plant has 2 Kaplan turbines and an installed capacity of 51 MW . The maximum flow is 500 m³ / s. It went into operation in 1949. The machine house is on the right side of the river.
Isohaara II power plant
The Isohaara II power plant has 2 machines and an installed capacity of 62 MW. The maximum flow is 600 m³ / s. It went into operation in 1993. The machine house is on the left side of the river.
