Health insurance communication system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The health insurance communication system (KKS) is a standard procedure introduced by the central associations of statutory health insurance in Germany for the exchange of data between employers and service providers with the statutory health insurance. It is also used for data transfer between the central associations.

It is a logical standard that describes the way in which useful and control data are exchanged. Network protocols such as B. FTAM or SMTP as part of the Internet protocol family and file processing methods such as encryption , compression and signature are referenced within the KKS specification, but KKS is not a definition of technical protocols.

The KKS description is maintained by the “Technical Working Group of Statutory Health Insurance” (TAG). The editorial processing is carried out by the information technology service center of the statutory health insurance (ITSG).
