Herb line

The Kraut Line was a Boston Bruins ice hockey storm series that played in the National Hockey League from 1936 to 1947 . The three strikers who were part of the Kraut Line were Milt Schmidt , Bobby Bauer and Woody Dumart .

The name is related to the North American prejudice that sauerkraut is the favorite dish of all Germans and that they are therefore referred to as Krauts . The three attackers came from what is now Kitchener , Ontario, a place founded by Germans that was called Berlin until the First World War . From the 1936/37 season , the three played together for the Boston Bruins . They led the team to win the Stanley Cup in 1939. The three were outstanding in the 1939/40 season when they took the first three places in the scorer ranking, but in the playoffs it was not enough to defend their title. In 1941 they won the Stanley Cup again with the Boston Bruins. Before the end of the following season, the entire assault line left the team and moved into World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force . For the 1945/46 season , the three returned and strengthened the Bruins again. In 1952, the three ran together again for a game of the Bruins.
