The Krebssee is a lake near Retzin in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The approximately 0.8 hectare body of water is located in the municipality of Ramin , one kilometer north of the center of Retzin. The lake is supplied with water via a northern ditch and drains through another southern ditch, the maximum extent of the Krebssee is about 120 by 90 meters.
From the middle of the 19th century, since the amelioration of the surrounding moors, shrank the lake, as well as the neighboring Rötsee , to its current size. The so-called Holzsee between the towns of Retzin and Ramin gives an impression of how the further silting up of both lakes will continue . This lake was still fishable until the 1960s, but today it fell completely dry and was covered with reed beds .
