The Krempl high-rise is a residential and commercial building in Linz . The popular name "spinach bunker" was derived from the green facade cladding that existed until the renovation at the beginning of the 2000s.
history
The house was built until 1970 according to plans by the architect Artur Perotti and was considered a modern and innovative building with 260 residential units. On the ground floor there are business premises with an area of 770 m². The aging building has increasingly developed into a social hotspot. The building is formative for the entire district. The popular term “spinach bunker” has been used to this day and is used as a location, for example in directions to public buildings, and the post office also delivers items with the address “spinach bunker”.
