Artur Perotti

Artur Perotti (born May 9, 1920 in Kennelbach ; † April 2, 1992 ) was an Austrian architect .

Perotti, born in Vorarlberg , came to Linz as a middle school student and then learned the model carpentry trade in Vienna . The Academy of Fine Arts , he did not complete in Vienna, from the autumn of 1945 he worked as an independent architect and "imprinted [e] reconstruction and the current appearance of the city of Linz with significant".

From 1971, Perotti worked in a shared office with Johann Greifeneder ( Perotti, Greifeneder & Partner ), numerous employees and companions, including Gustav Peichl and Günther Domenig .

Perotti planned and realized numerous hotel and bank buildings, including the Austria Trend Hotel on Schillerplatz, the construction of the Hotel Spitz in Linz- Urfahr , the Tourotel (now Arcotel / Hotel Nike) and the Parkhotel (later the Linz Adult Education Center ). The Oberbank headquarters in Linz and the BA-CA headquarters in Vienna's third district were designed by Perotti.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Perotti created large residential complexes in group construction, mainly for non-profit housing associations, including more than 600 residential units on the land of the former Poschacher brewery on the polygonal Bulgari -Platz. In the Neue Heimat and Schörgenhub districts, areas that had remained free during the Nazi era were built on by Perotti's plans; this includes the Krempl high-rise (popularly known as the spinach bunker ). In Urfahr, Perotti built the Am Damm residential complex between the Nibelungen Bridge and the railway bridge, using the bulk concrete construction method with around 430 residential units. Five of these 15 structures have ten to twelve storeys and "provide a view from the Linzer Ufer to the chain of hills of the Mühlviertel and the Pöstlingberg beyond ". The individual objects are either parallel or perpendicular to the Danube. In the Auwiesen district of Linz, the Perotti, Greifeneder & Partner office carried out the general planning for around 2,800 residential units for GWG Linz .

Perotti was part of the university planning group of the Johannes Kepler University Linz , designed the former Wilhelm Anger glasses factory in Traun , the Voestalpine guest house , the valley station of the Dachstein cable car and the Enns power plant in Weyer .

Perotti had a daughter and a son. In 1975 he was awarded the Ring of Honor of the City of Linz.
