Kreuzscheffel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kreuzscheffel was a grain measure in the city of Paderborn . The measure in the rest of the principality was different from that in the city. The Kreuzscheffel was used until around the end of the 18th century and was later replaced by the legal Prussian bushel .

The dimensional chain of the Kreuzscheffel was determined by the type of grain and, based on the Fuder , the divisions were as follows:

Fuder Painted oats Painted barley Painted rye bushel Locker cups
1 4th 6th 8th 48 192 768
1 1 ½ 2 12 48 192
1 1 ⅓ 8th 32 128
1 6th 24 96
1 4th 16
