War memorial in Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière and Fontaine-la-Rivière

The war memorial between the French communes of Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière and Fontaine-la-Rivière in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region was erected in 1921. The war memorial on Rue de Marancourt commemorates the military personnel from Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière and Fontaine-la-Rivière who were killed in the First World War .

An obelisk with a golden palm frond stands on a rectangular stone base .

An inscription on the base of the war memorial reminds us that when the memorial was inaugurated on July 17, 1921, the Conseiller général du canton (member of the district council) Georges Dufour suddenly died.
