War memorial in Kröv

The war memorial in Kröv , a local community in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was erected around 1928. The war memorial on Robert-Schuman-Straße (corner of Ehrenmalstraße), which was built in memory of those who died in the First World War , is a protected cultural monument .

The memorial with a high relief of a family with a child stands on a rectangular base , above which is the coat of arms of the municipality of Kröv. The monument is closed off by a triple-stepped cover on which a stone ball is crowned by an iron cross .

The inscription reads:

“To protect
my home and hearth , I trade the karst for the sword .
The
community of Cröv for their fallen sons .
Built by the
war- disabled
soldiers and
survivors of the
Cröv local group "
