The war memorial in Windsbach , a town in the Central Franconian district of Ansbach ( Bavaria ), commemorates those who died in the First World War . The war memorial north of the city is a protected architectural monument .

The war memorial on the hillside terraces was erected in 1922 based on a design by Walter Franke. The memorial with reliefs and risalits crowned by figures is provided with the following inscription: “To the heroes of the World War 1914/18 in gratitude / the bereaved for consolation / the present and future / gender for teaching and imitation / German loyalty / dedicated / by the city of Windsbach / the communities Elpersdorf Ismannsdorf / Neuses Retzdendorf and Sauernheim / God is our confidence! "
