criticism

In October 2018, the Free State of Bavaria held a hearing against Greipl before the Regensburg Administrative Court, as Greipl had violated his official duties, according to the court. During Greipl's tenure in 2013, the State Monuments Office employed independent helpers through contracts for work to have the list of architectural and ground monuments in Bavaria checked and digitized. A helper who had received several work contracts in a row filed a lawsuit against this fact and in the end won the case before the Federal Court of Justice, since there was no longer a work contract, but an employment contract subject to social insurance . Despite this judgment, Greipl continued to issue work contracts for the helpers several times in a row. This led to the Free State's lawsuit against Greipl, as the Free State was supposed to pay around 730,000 euros in social security contributions for these contracts. During the 2018 hearing, Greipl was heavily burdened by employees of the monument office, including the legal advisor. The Free State of Bavaria asked Greipl to return around 730,000 euros. In addition, the public prosecutor's office began to determine in 2019 whether there was any infidelity towards the employer. Greipl then appealed.
