The war memorial Alberschwende is a war memorial in the village square in the Bregenzerwälder community Alberschwende in the district of Bregenz in Vorarlberg . It was built to commemorate the fallen and missing Alberschwend soldiers in the First and Second World Wars . It is a listed building .

The right part of the monument was erected in 1924 to commemorate the soldiers who died in the First World War. The soldier figure on a stone base was created by G. Matt . The black marble plaque with gold inscription reads: “Dedicated by the Alberschwende community to their sons who died in the World War 1914-1918. loyal to home, even to death. ”Below is an olive branch.

The monument was expanded after the Second World War. After the dead and missing were recorded, the extension was commissioned in 1957 and inaugurated in 1961. The monument is in two parts: the left part is a stone tower about two meters high with a marble cross. It is crowned by a black metal cross. To the right of it is an elongated wall, also made of brick. It lists all 67 dead and 29 missing. In the middle is a black marble plaque with the following inscription: “1939 - 1945. Far in the south and in the north, far in the east and in the west, the best of the native people fell in the genocides. Home woes and their prayer wafts over their graves: Our sacrifice is consecrated to you, O God, forever. "
