The Hötensleben war memorial is a listed war memorial in Hötensleben in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the center of Hötensleben north of the Protestant St. Bartholomew Church where in one place the Bahnhofstrasse , the field angle and the Post Road to the Steinweg open out.

History and design

The memorial was erected for the fallen Hötensleber in the German War (1866) and Franco-German War (1870/71). It consists of an obelisk with inscriptions on which a Prussian eagle is enthroned. The eagle was missing at the beginning of the 21st century and was then put on. According to the inscription, the memorial was erected in 1872 at the instigation of Johanne Kahmann , whose son died in 1870 during the war. In addition to her son Andreas Kahmann , the memorial also commemorates the other fallen soldiers in the village.
