Krippenstein Chapel
The Krippenstein Chapel (also Heilbronn Chapel) was built on the Krippenstein in 1959 in memory of the victims of the Heilbronn Dachstein disaster. The architect is Gottfried Nobl .
History, equipment and use
After the 1954 Dachstein accident in Heilbronn , which killed thirteen people, a chapel was built according to plans by Gottfried Nobl and consecrated on July 11, 1959 by Bishop Franz Salesius Zauner . The location is near the main summit of the Hohe Krippenstein at 2100 meters above sea level. The chapel is intended for Catholics and Protestants. Originally a baroque Barbara altar was set up, which is now in the Hallstatt Museum . In the tower there is a bell from the city of Heilbronn , the Heilbronn chime and above the altar there are two wooden panels with the Beatitudes of Jesus. These notched boards are the work of the Hallstatt Wood School . Mountain services and memorial events take place here. Weddings are also held.
