Kris Jensen

Peter-Kristian "Kris" Jensen (born April 4, 1942 in New Haven , Connecticut ) is an American pop singer.

Career

Jensen was born the son of Scandinavian immigrants. At 15 he learned to play the guitar and performed at school dance events.

Jensen was an avid fan of Burl Ives and Chet Atkins . In the summer of 1960 he met the country singer Wesley Rose , who gave him a two-year recording contract. Staying Up Late / Bonnie Baby was Jensen's first single in 1959. In August 1960, he took on Leader Records the plate School Bus / Perfect Lover on. After another single, he moved to Kapp Records , in 1963 to Hickory Records . The first single on Hickory was also Jensen's greatest success. Torture / Let's Sit Down reached number 20 on the US Billboard charts . The composition Torture by John D. Loudermilk remained Jensen's only place in the charts. In 1963 he appeared on the English TV show Thank Your Lucky Stars . In 1966 he signed with White Whale Records , two records were released, and in 1970 he was briefly under A&M Records .
