Kristīgi demokrātiskā savienība ( KDS ; German Christian-Democratic Union ) is a Latvian party . She is currently not represented in the Saeima , the Latvian parliament.
history
The Christian Democratic Union was founded in 1991 and participated for the first time in the elections for the 5th Saeima in 1993. It won 5% of the votes and six seats in parliament. In the following elections, the party entered into electoral alliances, 1995 with Latvijas Zemnieku savienība, 1998 with Darba partija and Latvijas Zaļā partija , 2002 with Latvijas Pirmā partija , 2006 with Latvijas Sociāldemokrātiskā Strādnieku partija . After 2006, Kristīgi demokrātiskā savienība sank into insignificance. In the Saeima elections in 2010 she only got 0.36% of the vote and thus failed to pass the 5% hurdle.
The two European elections in 2004 and 2009 were also unsuccessful.
program
The Christian-Democratic Union is a party committed to Christian values as set out in the Ten Commandments . In the economic field, she works to eradicate corruption, lower taxes, free enterprise, strengthen agriculture and improve infrastructure. The KDS represents the model of a social market economy in the sense of Ludwig Erhard .
