Krista Kilvet

Krista Kilvet (born May 31, 1946 in Tallinn as Krista Kanter ; † January 21, 2009 ibid) was an Estonian radio journalist, politician and diplomat.

Kilvet studied at the University of Tartu . From 1967 to 1990 she worked for Eesti Raadio , Estonia's public radio broadcaster . From 1989 to 1999 she was a member of Tallinn City Council. From 1992 to 1999 Kilver was a member of the Riigikogu , the Estonian parliament.

From 1999 she worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among other things, she was Chargé d'Affaires (a. I.) In Ireland from 2002 to 2003 . She then worked at the Estonian Embassy in Bulgaria , where she was Chargé d'Affaires (a.i.) From April 2006 to October 2007.

In August 2008 Kilvet was appointed Estonian Ambassador to Norway . She was also accredited in Iceland . In October she resigned from her position as ambassador for health reasons.

From 1970 to 1990 she was married to the actor Kaarel Kilvet , and the marriage resulted in three daughters.
