Kristin Moen Skaslien (born January 18, 1986 ) is a Norwegian curler .

Career

Skaslien began her international career at the 2002 Junior World Championship as the lead of the Norwegian junior team; the team came in ninth place. In 2006 she took part in the European Championship for the first time . As a substitute for Skip Dordi Nordby's team , she finished ninth. Nine other European championships have followed so far, since 2012 as the skip of the Norwegian women's team. The best result so far was a sixth place at the 2010 European Championship .

In 2006 she took part in the World Cup for the first time ; It was followed by further participations in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2015. She did best in 2006 with seventh place.

In 2013 she played for the first time together with Magnus Nedregotten at the Mixed Doubles World Championship ; the two finished fourth. At the Mixed Doubles World Championship in 2014 , she came in fifth. She also played that year as third in the Norwegian mixed team under Steffen Walstad at the mixed European championships . The Norwegians made it to the final, but had to admit defeat to the Swedes with Skip Patric Mabergs . At the Mixed Doubles World Championships in 2015 she won the bronze medal with Magnus Nedregotten. In 2016, the Norwegian duo came in ninth place and in 2017 in fifth place.

Kristin Skaslien played together with Magnus Nedregotten for Norway in the first mixed doubles competition at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games . The two were tied for fourth place after the Round Robin and had to play a tie-breaker against China for a place in the semi-finals. The Norwegians won the game against Ba Dexin and Wang Rui 9-7 . In the semifinals they lost to Canada ( Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris ) 4-8 and in the game for third place they had to admit defeat to Russians Anastassija Brysgalowa and Alexander Kruschelnizki 4-8, so they came fourth in the final standings. After Kruschelnizki was disqualified for doping, Skaslien and Nedregotten were subsequently awarded the bronze medal on February 24, 2018.

Private life

Skaslien holds a degree in logistics from Oslo and Akershus University and a Masters in Technology Management from Trondheim Business School .
