Anna Kristina Carlson (born July 31, 1949 in Helsinki , Finland ) is a Finnish writer . She publishes her children's books under the pseudonym Mari Lampinen .

Life

Anna Kristina Carlson studied at the University of Helsinki from 1968 to 1974 . From 1974 to 1996 she worked as an editor for the weekly magazine Suomen Kuvalehti . She made her debut as a writer in 1986 with the novel Hämärän valo . However, she had her big breakthrough with her second novel, which was published in 1999. For the book she was awarded both the Thank You-for-the-Book Medal and the State Prize for Literature. Under the German title Ins Land am Ende der Welt , the book was finally published a year later by Alexander Fest Verlag in Berlin, based on a translation by Stefan Moster .
