Kristina Gehrmann
Kristina Gehrmann (* 1989 in Leverkusen ) is a German illustrator and comic artist with a realistic drawing style and a focus on historical topics.
Life
After graduating from high school in 2008, she studied classical-academic drawing and painting at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence . She has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2012. She lives and works in Hamburg .
Her first comic book publication, the graphic novel trilogy "Im Eisland", deals with the fate of the missing Franklin expedition and examines the question of how and why it ended in tragedy. The first volume of “Im Eisland” was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize in 2016 in the non-fiction category.
Kristina Gehrmann has been a member of the board of the Illustratoren Organization e. V.
In addition to working on her own comic projects, Kristina Gehrmann works as an illustrator with a focus on history and adventure topics for book publishers. B. for the Escape Adventures series from TOPP Verlag and Mysterious World of the Middle Ages (Circon Verlag).
