Juho Matsalu , native Joan Matson (born August 9 . Jul / 22. August  1911 greg. In Sindi , Governorate of Estonia ; † 1. August 1987 in Tartu , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian footballer , - arbitration and - trainer . In the 1930s he established his name.

Life

Juho Matsalu began his football career in 1929 with JK Pärnu Tervis . From 1936 he played for JS Estonia Tallinn . With the club, Matsalu became Estonian football champions in 1936 , 1938 and 1939 .

From 1937 to 1940 Matsalu played fourteen times for the Estonian national football team . With the national team he took part in the Baltic Cup twice, and won the event in 1938 .

After his career as a player, Matsalu trained from 1947 to 1948 Kalev Tartu . Then he was active as a referee in Estonia. Among other things, he led the final of the Estonian Football Cup in 1955.
