Kristina Reiss

Kristina Reiss (* 1952 ) is a German professor for didactics of mathematics at the Technical University of Munich . There she has been dean of the TUM School of Education since 2014 and has headed the Heinz Nixdorf Endowed Chair for Mathematics Didactics since 2009 . She is also the CEO of the Center for International Comparative Educational Studies (ZIB), which has been conducting the PISA studies in Germany since 2011 .

Kristina Reiss did her doctorate in 1980 at the University of Heidelberg on the subject of "A more general description of the sporadic simple group of Rudvalis" with Zvonimir Janko . She has been a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) since 2011 and has been a member of the board of trustees of the Deutsches Museum since 2016 . In 2008 Kristina Reiss received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her contributions to educational research and the training of teachers .
