history

In autumn 2003 Alexander Niederklapfer, David Wurm, Magdalena Wurm and Ehrentraud Hager founded the Krmpf Krmpf Studios as part of their first film project, "Adventure Work Path". The premiere took place on January 20, 2006 in Linz . For this first project, the studios were awarded the Golden Nica of the Prix Ars Electronica in the category “u19 - freestyle computing” (now “u19 - create your world”). Further prizes at various national and international short film festivals followed. The film was one of the first brick films , so it was made with Lego figures and stop-motion technology.

In 2008 the second big brick film project IOCC - The Police in the Race Against Time followed , which was also awarded several prizes, including a YOUKI Appreciation Award 2008 and recognition at the Prix Ars Electronica 2008, again in the category "u19 - freestyle computing" .

With their third short film project vergewhnt (2012), the studios entered new territory and produced their first short film, which, however, combined acting with stop-motion elements as a special feature. This project was also recognized with several prizes, including the "Lenzing Award in Silver" at the Festival of Nations . The film premiered in front of around 120 enthusiastic viewers at Moviemento (Linz) .

In 2011, planning also began for the studios' biggest project to date, the “stereonarrative” film merk | worthy - at that time still known as the “QD” project. This should implement the novel idea of being able to show an audience two perspectives on a story at the same time, in which the technique of stereoscopy is alienated and used to project two image streams simultaneously onto the screen of a cinema. These are then separated again by two different types of glasses that are distributed to the audience so that each viewer can only see one of the two perspectives. This should cheer the audience up after the film and lead to a critical questioning of their own point of view.

In March 215, the studios released the film Fast Forward as part of their "11 1/2 year celebration" , which focused entirely on acting and camera work. At the 4th Euroregional Youth Film Festival (EJFF) in Ghent, this film was awarded the special prize of the jury. The film, which according to the company actually started as a "practice project", became a success for the studios.

The studios' latest project, the “stereonarrative” film merk | worthig , celebrated its premiere on January 13, 2018 in front of 300 invited guests in the Hollywood megaplex PlusCity in Linz .
