Kroboth all-weather scooter
The Kroboth all-weather scooter was a three-wheeled scooter mobile produced from 1954.
description
The vehicle and mechanical engineering company Gustav Kroboth initially manufactured motor scooters. When the demand for scooters declined, a three-wheeled scooter mobile, the Kroboth all-weather scooter, came on the market in 1954.
The tricycle (two wheels in front, one wheel in the back) was an open two-seater with a convertible top and insert windows and was therefore also called the "all-weather scooter". The body had a central tube frame with front transverse leaf springs and rear leaf springs in the longitudinal direction. The 175 cm³ rear engine from Fichtel & Sachs was an air-cooled two-stroke engine with one cylinder and nine horsepower ; a 197 cm³ engine from ILO engine works could also be installed as an option . An electric starter and warm air heating were also available as special equipment. The maximum speed was specified as 75 or 80 km / h , depending on the displacement . A little over 50 units were built in the two-year construction period.
In 1955 it was also offered in Switzerland for 3450 francs.
Kroboth won a medal with this vehicle at the 2nd Lechtal Mountain and Lake Tour and he also took part in mountain races.
