The Kronenschlösschen is a hotel and restaurant in Hattenheim ( Eltville am Rhein ).

history

In the middle of the 19th century the building was erected by a Frankfurt gallery owner as a living and exhibition building for his artists. In the 1880s, Balthasar Ress bought the property at Rheinallee 1 from the bankruptcy estate and opened the Hotel Ress in 1894 , which remained in the family for 96 years. Recently, however, too little was invested in maintenance. In 1990 Hans B. Ullrich bought the property, which was dilapidated and in danger of collapsing. The building was completely refurbished for two years. The historical substance was preserved, the rooms and suites were furnished with comfort.

Since 1992 the house has been run under the name Kronenschlösschen as a country hotel with a restaurant of the same name. It is on federal highway 42 .

In February 2015, the hotel was included in the L'Art de Vivre Gourmet Residences association .

Kronenschlösschen restaurant

In 1990 Franz Keller became head chef at the Kronenschlösschen restaurant , which was awarded a Michelin star in the Michelin Guide . Patrik Kimpel succeeded him in 1993. In 2011 the Kronenschlösschen restaurant under Kimpel was again awarded a star. In April 2013, the former sous chef Sebastian Lühr became head chef and was able to keep the star until 2015. At the beginning of 2016, Simon Stirnal became head chef.

Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival

Since 1996, the Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival has been celebrated annually in March in Kronenschlösschen with many top chefs. In 2014, chefs with a total of 51 Michelin stars and 25 major winemakers were on site. 50 different culinary events were offered over two weeks.
