Kronthaler Weiher

The Kronthaler pond with an area of 22 hectares is the largest quarry pond in the district of Erding . It was built from 1965 to extract gravel and is now a recreational area at a distance of 1.5 to 2 kilometers north of the city center of Erding . The local recreation area was officially opened by Mayor Max Gotz on May 20, 2017 .

The pond is 750 meters long from north to south and up to 600 meters wide. It has an average depth of 9 meters. The maximum depth is 35 meters.

The pond is located at an altitude of 452 meters.
