The Krossinsee is a lake in Brandenburg near Wernsdorf in the north of the city of Königs Wusterhausen .

The Krossinsee is located on the southeastern city limits of Berlin in the Berlin-Fürstenwalder-Spreetalniederung in a side channel to the Dahme , on which it is connected to the Zeuthener See via the "Großer Zug", where the village of Ziegenhals is also located . It belongs to the river system of the Dahme. In the northeast, the lake is connected to the Oder-Spree Canal immediately in front of the Wernsdorf lock , followed by the Wernsdorfer See in the channel . It has an area of 163 ha and a maximum depth of 6.2 m. The deepest point is in the eastern area. The mean depth is 2.9 m. Another tributary of the Krossinsee is the Wernsdorfer Luch in the southeast. Its catchment area is approximately 9.6 km² and around two thirds of it is used as a forest. The south bank of the Krossinsee is populated. The former fishing village of Wernsdorf borders the Ziegenhals settlement on the lake. Because of the connection to the Seddinsee and the Zeuthener See, the Krossinsee is a popular recreational area, especially for water sports enthusiasts. It is designated as a federal waterway and can therefore be used with motor boats. There are numerous jetties on the south bank.
Bathing area and water quality
According to the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance, the “Wernsdorf” bathing area on the Krossinsee is monitored by the district's health department by taking samples every four weeks. The microbiological guide values and limit values of the water hygiene tests were always observed. Occasionally there are blue algae blooms , sensitive people should refrain from bathing.
