Ziegenhals is part of the municipality of Niederlehme and Wernsdorf , which in turn are districts of Königs Wusterhausen in Brandenburg . The place is located southeast of Berlin in the Dahme-Spreewald district . Since October 26, 2003 it has belonged to Königs Wusterhausen as part of Niederlehme and Wernsdorf. The place is on the road between Königs Wusterhausen and Erkner am Großer Zug and Krossinsee .
history
In the former sports store in Ziegenhals , Ernst Thälmann appeared for the last time on February 7, 1933, before his arrest by the National Socialists, as a speaker at a meeting in front of KPD functionaries. A Thälmann memorial was located here until mid-2010. The former sports store belonged to the Niederlehmer part of Ziegenhals.
On a headland at the northern end of the Großer Zug and the beginning of the Krossinsee lies the Schwanenburg , which was built in 1906 as a restaurant and residential building. In World War II the building served as an officer in phases home and from 1946 to 1956 as FDJ - summer camp . Erich Honecker is said to have been a frequent guest in the camp. In 1956 the facility became an oncological institute and a rehabilitation facility for women who had been operated on for cancer . In 1962 an academy for advanced medical training was added, in which Ludwig Mecklinger , later Minister for Health Care of the GDR , taught as a guest lecturer . After it was taken over by the Berlin Senate in 1990, the building complex was largely empty and fell into disrepair despite being partially used in phases. In 1996 the Schwanenburg became the property of an investor who had it converted into a senior care home that opened in 1999. The Schwanenburg belongs to the Wernsdorf part of Ziegenhals.
