The Krumme See is a body of water in the municipality of Am Mellensee in the Brandenburg district of Teltow-Fläming . The lake is east of the Sperenberg district and south of the Klausdorf district . It is located in the extensive landscape protection area Baruther Urstromtal and Luckenwalder Heide and is part of the 66 Lakes Regional Park Route and can be reached via the Boden Geo-Path .
At the end of the last ice age around 10,000 years ago, a thick ice sheet covered the area around Sperenberg. It prevented the further uplift of the salt dome below . The ice melted and the ground thawed. Groundwater flowing in afterwards dissolved the pressing salt and carried it over the glacial valleys . This created several cavities in the region, from which the northeastern Faule Luch and the Krumme See emerged.
