The traditional crook knives are found in the Upper Guinea region, particularly in Liberia and the Ivory Coast . Leo Frobenius also mentions Benin . They are attributed to the local ethnic groups such as Kru , Yakuba , Ngere , Grebo or Baule . Manfred A. Zirngibl describes the function as a cult or guide knife .

description

The blade of the knife is wide and bent down at the tip . It usually has one strong and two weaker central ridges. The total length is about 50 cm. The handle is made of wood or bone.
