Krystyna Maria Doktorowicz (born July 23, 1955 in Katowice ) is a Polish media scientist , politician and former senator .

She studied political science at the Silesian University in Katowice and has worked there as a research assistant since 1978. Her focus areas are media in the USA and European media in the information society . Since 1996 she has also been dean of the faculty for radio and television at this university. From 1990 to 1991 she worked at the European Institute for Media in Manchester .

Since 1995 she has been chairman of the supervisory board of Radio Rezonans in Sosnowiec , and since 1996 director of Zakład Zarządzania Mediami (media administration office). From 2001 to 2005 she was a non-party senator in the Polish Senate (she ran with the support of the SLD party ). In 2005 she did not apply for re-election. In the 2007 elections , her Senate candidacy failed.
