The KuB 64K computer kit was a fully compatible replica of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer . It was developed by the Central Institute for Cybernetics and Information Processes Berlin (ZKI) of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . The computer was manufactured in the center for scientific device construction in Liebenwalde .

technology

The 1 or 2 KB ROM only contained a bootloader ; the operating system had to be loaded from a data carrier ( compact cassette ). However, it was possible to enlarge the ROM to 16 KB and then integrate the operating system. With a floppy disk drive, it finally became SCP- compatible (analogous to CP / M ). In addition to standard television sets, it could be connected to the K7222 monitor .

Like the Spectral, it was only available as a kit and in terms of software it was completely compatible with its Western model.
